This building became one of the most important architectonic milestones in this new-born street, created after the demolition of the ancient walls (now Calle Eduardo Martinez del Campo). On the inside its chapel stands out, in an eclectic style. In spite of most of the building being from the 19th century, some of the remains of its early construction in the 17th century have been preserved. Its rich library is noteworthy, with books that came from the exclaustration of the monasteries, it has some important incunabulum and editions from the 16th century.
In this building we can find the Diocesan Archives, which has modern facilities designated to preserve documents coming from the different parishes of the diocese of Burgos.
