The Archbishop’s Palace was built in 1916 in a neo-Renaissance style. It was built because of the demolition of the old palace which was located by the cathedral in Plaza del Rey San Fernando. The architects of the new building were Javier Lurque and Julián de Apráiz. Its elegant design is inspired by the eclecticism of the end of the 19th century, which integrates different historic styles like Baroque and the Renaissance style. On the top of its main facade you can see the Coat of Arms of the Bishop, medallions with the evangelists, the Coat of Arms of Burgos and a Marian vase with lilies.
