The “Romería de Nuestra Señora de la Blanca” takes place the last weekend of May. The pilgrimage leaves from the church of San Pedro de la Fuente, where the pilgrims, the Authorities from Burgos, cultural associations and dance groups meet. From there, they carry the image of the Virgin to the surroundings of the Castle, where there used to be a church dedicated to “Nuestra Señora de la Blanca” which disappeared when the castle was blown up in the Spanish War of Independence. There they hold a mass and then they give out paella to those taking part.
